choice

Christ Let His Light Shine

Everything goes in its own way and in its right time. You have wondered how it is that I can say all is well, even when, in your eyes, all is not well. All is well with you, beloveds, even when you are in the midst of that which you do not favor. Let it be. It is like this:

You are a swimming fish. There may be algae floating and other fish swimming in the same pond, some toward you, some in your way, and fish that you are, you do not mind. You just keep swimming. If there is an octopus, you still keep swimming. Nothing is in the way unless you say so.

And the World Turns

It is like this. You wrote a play once, and you didn't get to finish the rehearsal. You forgot the play. You forgot all about it, and yet a secret part of you has a recollection and wants to continue it. You want to see this play before your very eyes. It is not exactly that you finish where you left off, yet it is something like that.

You Are Invited to a Banquet

Today is a new life before you. What can it be but that? This day in timeless time has never been written on before.

Today is on the menu. What do you choose for this day? There are a multitude of choices. Today consciously choose. Set the course of your day by choosing. Do not leave it up in the air.

What occurs, you may not have the say of. What you wish to incur, you have all the say in the world. Whatever it is that you are seeking in life, seek for it today. Be on the watch for it. Set the table for it.

Be the First to Step Forward

Good morning, My beloved children, who struggle and twist and turn in life because you believe you have to in order to exist. And so you enter the fray. That is your error, that you believe it is necessary to fight life. Therefore you parry and thrust for all you are worth, and you wear yourself out with fighting ghosts when you could befriend them.

The Choice of Patience

Patience takes many forms, but there is no alternative to it. Impatience not only wastes time but also energy.

Impatience has tentacles that pull all near it into its grasp. Impatience makes the so-called source of your impatience last longer. You fritter away time with impatience. Why be impatient when you can be patient?

Impatience rushes up front to get a seat in front. Patience is more like a wise toad who looks all around.

You Are a Maker of Good Fortune

If it is hard for you to conceive yourself as full of love, can you conceive yourself as free of negativity? Can you conceive of negativity as nonexistent or fleeting or something you can toss away the minute it arrives? If you cannot consider love as fully present, can you conceive of the absence of negativity in your own heart?

Unconditional love doesn't mean love full-blown at every moment. It does not mean that you will desire to engage with everyone all the time. It doesn't mean that, when someone says or does something you don't like, you don't see it.

Like Angel Wings

Put aside your theories, and let life be what it is when it is. Naturally, you like to make summations of life, as though you have a grip on it. But the progression of life as it is lived on earth eludes you. Life is much more than any theory or definition. Just as soon as you decide that life is one thing, right before your very eyes, it turns into another.

As you grow each day, your view of life changes along with you.

Arise and Walk

What choice do you have but to enjoy life?

Whatever difficulties you have, protests don't change them. You may feel that problems were foisted on you, but wherever they arrived from, they arrived. You can fuss and fume about life all you want, but what good does it do? That's why I say, what choice do you have but to enjoy life? Isn't this the simplest thing you ever heard?

Even when you stumble and fall, is it not possible that you can enjoy that view? You would not have chosen to be on the floor, but now that you are, what would it take for you to make it worthwhile?

Decisions

Decisions. You think that decisions are a huge undertaking, but decisions are merely choices you make. Even life and death decisions are not life and death. Decisions hang in the air, and you pull one down. You can never know all the intricacies. You cannot follow the course of the decision back to its origination, nor can you follow it to its outermost conclusion. You don't need to invest so much in decisions.

Your decisions are little things. They are not so big as you make them. Your whole life is not held in the balance of any decision you make, so-called right or so-called wrong.

Choosing vs. Judgment

So long as you approve, you are judging. Approval and disapproval are two ends of judgment.

"But wait," you say, "aren't I entitled to like something more than something else?"

But of course you are.

When someone offers you an apple or an orange, and you prefer the orange, you accept it because that is your preference. You are not sneering at the apple or considering the orange of more value. You are not thinking: "Oh, how can anyone in their right mind choose an apple over an orange?"

You are simply stating your preference.
