THE LONG DISTANCE PHONE CALL

This pure, beautiful letter reminds me of certain phone calls I received in my long, good life.
This LETTER reminded me of a long distant call from a dear friend of the past's joyfulness.
It reminded me of things we had in common to love and enjoy, such as freedom's love filled song.
Some LETTERS are like the ones I would receive at mail call on ship board while at Iwo Jima bringing love and hope.
Some are like the electric chair to past misconceptions about what I needed to become, I supposed,
Some are like a cross that kills those old delightful things to release the forever me that was all covered up by them.
Now and then the LETTERS speak of a LOVE I hardly recognize because emotions can't speak those kind of words.
This letter spoke the words in a way I could HEAR my FATHER say: "It was natural for Me to give freedom." (Because I love you so.)
It temps me to ask HIM his real name. He's so dear, and always had been, even as a child.
HE seems so close and so far away. I suppose it's HIS hugeness that hold me at bay.
I really want to call to HIM out of this package of total freedom that I enjoy now and say: "I LOVE YOU TOO!. Whew!
