Two major points: give people what they ask for, and serving is a form of love...."the greatest service." Yes! When our grown children come to us and pour out all their woes, often they are not asking for our advice. They are asking us to listen. They need to tell someone, just as they needed to tell us about "what happened at school" when they were children. They are asking for our love and as their parents always, regardless of age or stage of development, this is the greatest service we can give them. Sometimes we find ourselves biting our tongues because we certainly do want to offer advice... That's our apple when they want an orange.
