Slumdog Millionaire
Posted February 18th, 2009 by forthelove...We rarely go to the movie theater anymore, but did so yesterday to celebrate my mother's birthday. I am so glad we did and saw this movie on the big screen. It is an absolutely marvelous, incredible, moving, heartwrenching, redemptive, ultimately uplifting movie. I hope it wins all the academy awards it's nominate for--it's that good. And it is one that needs a big screen to do it justice.
If you haven't already heard something about it, it's about a young man from the slums who manages to get on the Indian version of Who Wants to be A Millionair and WINS BIG. But how, they ask (by torture) does this boy from the slums know the answers? He must have cheated. He tells his story--every answer to every question relates to a point in his life, thus we get his entire life story through this game show. See the movie ... and then lets discuss.
