I quess it was same as in your country only for a week in big time cinemas. I found one small cinema called "Lemon" here in my city. It looks like a cafeteria. Sofas, tables and very calm place. I see the same cat in the cinema as always, like in uncles shop... . Everything in this "small family movie theater" is connected with yellow. You pay 1 Zloty less for each thing that is yellow you wear on yourself. I can be button in the shirt :) People often come with lemon - it still works.
After you buy ( it's 1,8 euro so it's extreamly cheap ) you get coffe, chocolate or tea. And after the Movie you can go to one of the pubs listed on ticked and get additional tea/coffe/beer. It is cheap because they don't play hollywood superproductions :) You can see this kind of movies but two monts after premiere. Everybody know faces of people who goes there. Great great movies shown and that's a great place for me.
Maybe you should look for the smalest cinema in your city and maybe you'll find minor productions shown from time to time :). Hope you see Hawaii,Oslo!
