Well, all I know so far is that you communicate with the nature spirits, and see what they want, and try to garden in harmony with that. Lili told me that the nature spirits - devas - told her that I am so impatient when I garden that they consider me dangerous! They want me to know that they are there for me, and want to know if I am there for them. They said I need to learn patience. (not my favorite virtue.) They also told Lili that the garden should be round, and that I need to plant a garden for the bugs and critters, too. That way, when we ask them to leave our vegies along, we can show them theirs. I actually do feel a difference in my yard. And I find myself taking a breath and slowing down when I enter the garden, so as not to injure the plants or offend the devas, which apparently I have been doing all along. Live and learn. :-)
