Final farewell to my wife of 64 years
Posted May 20th, 2008 by George MontaSweet Gloria:
One Sunday afternoon last June, my Darling suddenly looked up from her bed and happily said, “Hon, who are these two men holding keys?”
I patted her and told her we were alone, although later some friends came to love us.
She laughed a little Charlie Brown crooked smile and said, “Oh, Honey, there’s one at the foot of my bed, and one over here at the side.”
I knew that only she could see the celestial ones who were there to guide her across.
About 7:00 p.m., she said, “Honey, now cuddle me.” I crawled into bed fully dressed and sang to her and loved her until about midnight when she took her beautiful flight from my arms to HIS.
Please don’t grieve for me. God gave me this doll to enjoy for 64 years, three beautiful children, three beautiful grandchildren and seven very beautiful great grandchildren. My missing her has a deep inner joy of a job well-done and finished.
We fell in love at the beginning of WWII. She made me wait until I was back from Iwo Jima where I served as a medic. At the conclusion of the war, I asked her to marry me. She wanted to know if the carnage of the war would change me. Her precious father did the marriage.
When she knew her final days were very near, she had me gather all the children and her sister so she could love on them and say goodbye. She wanted her baby, now in his 40's to spread half her ashes from his hang glider and half on Whale Rock in New Jersey.
Now she KNOWS, and so do I.
We loved Heavenletters for years.
Love you,
George Monta

All Heavenletters seem to arrive the morning I most need them. I received #2541 Boundlessness letter two days before my husband passed away from this physical world, into the next chapter of his life. I read the letter at least five times.....and sent it to everyone on my email list along with my final letter about my husband and his life here on earth.
