reading Heavenletters

What is the purpose in your reading Heavenletters? You may say it makes you feel good, makes you think, wakes you up, stirs your heart, opens your eyes, swivels your attention. You may say it makes you feel more honest, more intelligent, more clear, bolder. You may say it brings you closer to My heart, that it acquaints you with Me, that it establishes you with Me, that you feel My love more, that your heart and your life take a turn in an upward direction, and there are moments when you feel exultation.

What is the deeper purpose?

The deeper purpose, it turns out, is following God's will. Which is a very difficult concept for me when I see God as someone else and His will as another imposition – as if I didn't have enough of those from the likes of me. He expresses it perfectly Himself: When you feel far away, why would you follow the will of a stranger, and how would you know what it was anyway? Thank You for understanding my difficulty. But what is my difficulty? It's in not knowing that His will and my will are ultimately the same. Even when I don't know this, or not clearly, how beautiful the mere thought of it! Beautiful enough, on should think, to give short shrift to everything keeping up the separation. But, oh, the common sense of people I listened to over God's and my own.

That is the way of things in the world. Nothing serious. Nothing is lost. I have only been fighting at imaginary front-lines for the better part of a lifetime, and now, at least, I can drop that learned nonsense and remember the One Original Will. It's done, I gather, by mere listening to what is always already there.
