The Means of Expression

You are not purposeless. You are not aimless. If you are alone on top of a mountain, you have purpose. If you are with the milling throng, you have purpose. If you are bedridden and alone, you have purpose. Your purpose is not dependent upon your temporary condition in life.

Whatever your condition in life, you can be sure it is temporary. Circumstances are around you, but they are not by a long shot the extent of you.

Your Purpose in Life

I am the God of your fathers, and I am your God now. I am not somebody else's. I am everyone's. And that includes you.

The right to Me that anyone has, you have. I am right, not mere privilege. I am an endowment to you. I am not a tip for good service. I am your inheritance.

When you create as an artist, you put something of yourself in your creation, and you leave yourself there within it. Your art cannot be separated from yourself. You cannot be extricated from it. You cannot be withdrawn. You are in your painting.

You Are Your Own Tree

It is fine to honor your ancestors, but know that their thinking does not have to be yours. Their thinking may not have been their own. It may have been their ancestors'. Your bodily form is not all you have inherited. You have inherited thought patterns as well as genes.

Thoughts have been handed down to you. Ways of thinking have been instilled in you. Your thoughts about something may not be the same as seeing it for itself. You may see what you have been taught to predict to be there.

Others' Thoughts

Gratitude swells your heart. Less than gratitude depletes it. But give not so much gratitude to other people because that puts you in the position of owing. Gratitude goes to Me. It is good to remember that because it keeps you neutral.

More Than the Frame

You apologize for your body. You are ashamed of it. You change it all you can. How you feel about your body betokens a lot of how you feel about life.

Although your body is really not you, you nevertheless feel its restrictions. You move in it. It goes with you. You go with it. You feel imprisoned in it. At the same time as you disdain, you adore.

Often it is only your body that is seen, and often that is all you see in others. How diminished you feel when that is the case! You feel diminished because it is untruth. The body has nothing to do with the size of you.

Dancer in the King's Court

Disappointments come because your life, as you see it in your mind, is going in one direction, and then the direction veers, and you are there with your mouth agape, aghast that a direction changed, as if you believed that direction in life must continue as it started or restarted a moment or a day or a year ago. But current life is movement, and movements move, and directions change.

You feel someone or something let you down, but nothing happened except that a direction changed. You counted on one thing, and now you can count on it no longer.

Wherever You Walk

When things fall into place, you have let them. You have not blocked their arrival. You haven't forced anything. You have allowed. You have stepped out of the way. You have stopped interfering. You have let go.

That doesn't mean you have done nothing, but it does mean you have not held on to one avenue. You have let manna fall from Heaven whichever way it may fall.

You cannot make it. You cannot order it. You can only receive.
