Selfish and unselfish are hard for you to deal with. Neither is tremendously comfortable for you. So long as you maintain your ego, you are both.

When your ego is put in its proper place, then selfish and unselfish do not come up. Judgment isn't your hero any longer. You won't judge yourself the way you do now, and you won't judge others the way you do now.

Christ lingers in the world. That is to say that he continues his ministry. He calls you to him as a disciple. He is light calling to light. He is vibration calling to vibration. He is the sound of My voice repeated through his own. He echoes My every word. He hums the song I sing.

You barely hear it, but you hear it.

We can say that Christ and I are a duet. But I long for a choir of Christs.

You apologize and say you don't sing very well.

My song is easy to follow.

When you sing My song, your voice is beautiful enough. It is not you who is listened to. It is My song.

What if it is true that I am really contained in everything around you? What if I am really in every object and every picture of every object? What if I am really in you? If I am in everything you look at, I am contained in you who is the looker as well.

What if there is actually nothing out there for you to look at, and it is your own reflection you see through your eyes? What if everything is you?

What if you are out there and in there, that you are the inside that can also be seen outside? What if you could look within and see the heart and soul of you and find Me there?

You all say that you want freedom, and yet you keep attaching to what is around you.

In order to be free, you have to release your attachments. You do not have to give all your worldly possessions away, but you must release their hold on you.

Free means to not be bound.

In order for you not to be bound, you release all that you have been bound to. Of course, you have not really been bound. You just thought so, and that has been enough to keep you bound. Binding is mental.

Even surrounded by prison walls, you are free.

Even in a prison, you can let go of attachments.

The pain in your heart is your heart's knowing that it has cheated itself. Pain in your heart is your heart's knowing that you are meant for more than you have allowed. Even your ego knows that you are far more than you have pretended to be.

A disguise is not comfortable, or not comfortable for long.

If you were your plain self, you would be lighthearted.

You think you have to be a certain way, and you think others do too, and so a cycle revolves.

Part of openness is not making assumptions. Assumptions are judgment. Be wary of what you assume. Assumption is thinking you know something when you only know a part of it, if that.

Assumptions are cryptic. They are damning.

My son Christ made no assumptions. Assumptions are limiting, and he limited no one.

You might say he made one assumption, and that was that I was with everyone, but of course that was not assumption but fact.

He did not assume that beneath the surface of illness radiated glowing health. He knew that for a fact.

Very little is asked of you. I never ask for much. And anything I ask of you is on your behalf. I bring you to Me, and I bring you as fast as I can. Your willingness to come with Me is the permission you give to Me to bring you. The more you step forward, the more you step forward.

Halfway measures lead you in the right direction, but sometimes there is a step you have to take. Sometimes one little step. When you are at the threshold of Heaven, you move yourself across. You must take that step in order to own it. The initiative is yours, not Mine.

You are swollen with love for Me. All that you accumulate is evidence of your love for Me. But love for Me cannot be kept within. That is not enough. Your love for Me has to be expressed. Do not keep Me to yourself. Do not hoard your love for Me.

You are like a river, and you must flow to tributaries. Love is not to be dammed up. Love is the overture of a great symphony and must be sounded.

You need ask permission of no man.

Consult with Me. That is what Christ did do.

Can you imagine My son Christ asking other people what he should do? Can you imagine his asking others whether he should go here or there, or do this or that? Can you imagine his asking a single soul whether it was the right thing to do to speak out the Truth he heard from Me? Can you conceive that he would ask even himself, "What is most propitious here?" or, "What is the smart thing to do?" or, "What will others think of me?"

All of life experience is symbolic. It is a representation of a variant of truth. All that occurs is an opera or drama or comedy. But all is symbolic of the indestructibility of the human soul. A dance is more than a dance. It represents something, perhaps the movement of life and the movement of the dancers in life. Music is the background. Song is the soul singing to itself. And life itself is the rolling over of the music upon itself.
